Lancashire County Council respects your
right to privacy. We understand the sensitive nature of privacy issues
and we will try to ensure that your confidentiality is protected. Our
privacy policy is detailed below and we ask that you to read it in full.
You can use Lancashire County Council's web pages without revealing
any personal information. The majority of our services do not require
any form of customer registration. Information about yourself which
you give to Lancashire County Council will only be used for the purpose
declared. It is the Policy of Lancashire County Council to comply with
the Data Protection Act 1998 and the good practice for the handling
of personal data contained within that Act. The information which follows
is a general declaration which applies when you supply contact details
in order that information may be sent to you. On other web pages operated

1. Information you provide
to Lancashire County Council
The only time we require customer details is when you send feedback
or fill in an online form to apply for something. If you wish to give
feedback and not leave your contact details you can do so on the feedback
form. The different online forms cannot be offered without first receiving
some contact information. However, if you are not willing to provide
us with such information you may choose to not use this service. If
you wish to solely use the Lancashire County Council web site to find
relevant up-to-date information then you will not be required to fill
out any form of registration.
2. How the information
is used
Lancashire County Council use this information about you only to contact
you in response to your enquiry or request. By sending feedback or completing
an online form you expressly permit Lancashire County Council to contact
you via email or mail.
3. User Statistics
During your use of our site, we automatically collect statistical data.
This is just used to identify how many people are accessing our site,
and which browsers they are using, which page is the most popular and
so on. The information cannot personally identify you and is only used
to help us provide a better service.
4. Coverage
This statement applies to the sites operated by Lancashire County Council.
It does not apply to the external sites listed on the pages.
5. Third-Party Relationship
You will find direct links on our site to other web sites. These links
are provided for convenience and the presence of the links does not
imply any relationship with Lancashire County Council. It does not mean
that people from these organisations can or do access information held
by Lancashire County Council. If information is shared then this is
made clear through information provided when you supply information
or on the County Council's Data Protection Registry entry accessible
via the Information Commissioner's web site http://www.dataprotection.gov.uk.
Linked sites are not covered by this Statement and if you have any concerns
that a site to which we have a direct link is not practicing an acceptable

and Data Protection
Lancashire County Council has security measures in place to attempt
to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of customer data
under our control. While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration
of the data will never occur, we promise to do our utmost to prevent
